The Cultural Foundation « Routes of the Olive Tree » at the 6th School of Tourism

The 6th School of Tourism took place in Kalamata, from 13 to 15 March 2017.  The event gathered professionals and students in the tourism and catering sector, with the objective to provide continuous training and help them develop their competences in an increasingly competitive environment.

The Cultural Foundation “Routes of the Olive Tree” participated in the event and presented the European project “Well-O-Live”, which it is implementing in cooperation with a transnational network of private and public actors from France, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia and Finland.

The changes in the sector of tourism, due to the increasing demand for personalised experiences, dictate synergies aiming at the creation of unconventional thematic tourism products that valorise thetangible and intangible assets of destinations.

In this framework, Well-O-live project aims at developing and implementing an innovative planning, management and promotion model for market-driven thematic products of rural tourism, focused on wellness and wellbeing activities across the Routes of Olive Tree. The project designs a European olive-based tourism product that combines education and entertainment, making rural destinations more attractive and supports their economies.
