The House of Istrian Olive Oil located in the center of Pula, region Istria, Croatia tells the story of olive growing in Istria through history to the present day.
It explains why Istrian olive oil was highly valued by the ancient Romans, how it was processed at that time and how olive oil is produced today.
Every visitor can enjoy an expert guided olive oil tasting, learn how to recognize a top quality extra virgin olive oil, how proper oil tasting is done and which specific aromas to look for in an olive oil.
In the Museum shop there is a large selection of Istrian extra virgin olive oils, objects made of olive wood, Istrian brandies, truffles, lavander and other Mediterranean plant based cosmetics, souvenirs and various gift packages.
