Nikos Kalogeropoulos has passed away – Founding member of ‘Routes of the Olive Tree’

The ‘’Routes of the Olive tree’’ has lost a man who was an integral part of its history. It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to Nikos Kalogeropoulos, a great actor, director, screenwriter, poet, songwriter and master of the baglama, a founding member of our organisation and a valued companion on our route.

From the very beginning of ‘‘’Routes of the Olive tree’’, Nikos contributed to its development through his art, his restless intellect and his deep love for the land and its culture. He believed that art is not mere decoration, but a way of life, a form of social engagement and a force capable of uniting people.

The creation of the ‘Train of the Arts’ at the old railway station in Kyparissia (Greece) was tangible proof of this vision: that even an abandoned space can, through culture, be transformed once more into a vibrant place of encounter and creativity.

His passing leaves a great void, but his work, his music, his vision and his authentic voice will continue to be with us.

Our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

Farewell, Nikos. We will not forget you.
