The Cultural Foundation ” Routes of the Olive Tree ” is a coordinating partner of the European project OTRart (Overview Through Rubbish & art) which officially starts on 24 January 2025 with a kick-off meeting in Kalamata.
The project OTRart, funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme has a duration of 19 months and its implementation involves 7 partners from 6 European countries: Greece, France, Spain, Italy, Malta, Italy, Malta and Croatia:

The aim of the project is to contribute to raising awareness among audiences of all ages about environmental challenges through art, with a focus on waste management in the Mediterranean. In the framework of the project, artistic actions will be implemented in all participating countries, including:
- 6 international artistic residencies
- Workshops for children and young people
- Exhibitions and public interventions
- Educational actions for artists
- Networking between environmental organisations and the educational community
Each partner will be responsible for carrying out artistic creations and activities in their city, aiming to highlight the dimensions of the waste problem and the need for rational waste management.
