Two new points of interest on the “Routes of the Olive Tree” Cultural Route in Spain (Mallorca, Selva)

The mayor of Selva, Mr. Joan Rotger, awarded Cati Mateu from Sa Tafona de Caimari and Tomeu Deyà from Can Det de Sóller the distinction “POINT OF INTEREST OF THE ROUTES OF THE OLIVE TREE, CULTURAL ROUTE OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE” granted by the Routes of the Olive Tree Foundation.

The awarding of these distinctions marks a route that starts from the Caimari Tafona and will include the traditional olive oil mills of the region.

The municipality of Selva is one of the most active members of the OTRoutes network and is involved in many joint projects such as the ‘Olive Grove of Peace’ and the EU project “Olive Tree Cultivation in the Era of Climate Change: Tackling Future Impacts with Adaptation Strategies” in which Turkiye (municipality of Edremit) is also participating. In addition, joint events are planned for next November.
