The General Assembly of the Mediterranean Olive Oil Towns Network RECOMED, which took place in Matera, Italy (Basilicata region), on Friday, 23 June 2023, was successfully concluded. In this 1st General Assembly of the Network chaired by Greece, the President of the Mediterranean Olive Oil Towns Network RECOMED and Executive Director of the Cultural Foundation “Routes of the Olive Tree”, Mr. George Karabatos, presented the strategy of the new presidency for the next 3 years and announced the accession of new member countries to the Network.
Mr. Karabatos was accompanied on this trip by Ms. Olga Mezeridou, International Relations Advisor of the Cultural Foundation ” Routes of the Olive Tree “.
In the framework of the General Assembly, a scientific meeting on “Olive Tourism in the Mediterranean” was successfully held, which aimed at highlighting good practices of olive tourism in the Mediterranean. The meeting was attended by experts from 5 countries (Greece, Italy, Croatia, Spain, Tunisia). Greece was represented by Ms. Katia Griva, agrotourism analyst and researcher.
