A total of 20 representatives of the Routes from different countries participated in the training: Spain, Italy, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan, Romania, Poland, France and Greece. The aim of the training seminar was to educate and exchange good practices on youth-related activities and ways to attract young people to the Cultural Routes.

The “Routes of the Olive Tree” was responsible for the organisation and for the implementation of the programme and related activities prepared specifically for the participants.

The thematic sections of the training seminar were as follows:

THEMATIC SECTION 1: ATTRACTING YOUNG PEOPLE (engagement, volunteering)
THEMATIC SECTION 2: HOW TO MOTIVATE YOUNG PEOPLE (raising awareness + spark interest)
THEMATIC SECTION 3: THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON YOUNG PEOPLE AND TRAINING ON HOW TO MAKE INFOGRAPHICS
THEMATIC SECTION 4: TOURISM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND HOW TO ATTRACT THEM TO CULTURAL ROUTES

The activities that accompanied the training, with the participants attending them with particular interest, were the traditional carnival of Nedousa (community of Messinia), where the importance of young people’s participation in traditional customs for their protection and preservation was emphasised, the realization of a short route “Routes of the Olive Tree” with a guided tour of a traditional and modern olive mill, olive oil tasting, a walk in an olive grove, and a visit to a model agrotourism farm created by young people for young people.

It was an extremely fruitful working meeting which enriched the agenda of the routes for activities with young people with ideas and suggestions and gave the participants the opportunity to get to know each other better and on the routes to further strengthen their relations.
