On Friday, November 29th, at the Cultural Center of the city of Ulldecona, which was full of people, was successfully presented the 9th Conference “Olivos milenarios Territorio Senia Ruta Cultural Europea. An extensive presentation, of the cultural route “Route of the Olive Tree” and of the values and priorities of the Council of Europe, took place. The presentation was held by Mrs Marinella Katsilieri, Planning and Development Officer of the Foundation “Routes of the Olive Tree”.
Mr Eladio Fernández Galiano, Councilor for Cultural Councils of the Council of Europe, made a very interesting presentation of the Council of Europe Program and Cultural Routes.
In the frame of the Conference, in which has participated representatives of the region’s local government, businessmen and olive growers, was highlighted the importance of integrating the area into the cultural route “Routes of the Olive Tree” route of the Council of Europe, in order to highlight and protect the region’s millennial olive trees.
The work of the Conference was concluded with an award ceremony, entitled “Member of the Routes of the Olive Tree”, Cultural Route of the Council of Europe. Selected stakeholders and entrepreneurs in the region were entitled in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and emotion.
The Conference was held for the ninth consecutive year, initiated by Taula del Senia and the Association Territotio Senia, who are honorary members of the Network of the “Routes of the Olive Tree”, and is one of the most important events in the region.
