17 days, 17 sustainable development goals

With an original exhibitionn, Kalamata participated in the overall effort to disseminate and clarify the Sustainable Development Goals for a more sustainable future!

The Greek Platform for Development, on the occasion of the celebration of the three years since the adoption of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Objectives and within the framework of the Sustainable Europe for All program, organized and coordinated actions by Civil Society Organizations across Greece for 17 days.

From 14 to 30 September, Civil Society Organizations, schools and institutions were inspired by the World Goals and created children’s workshops, theatrical events, public events, cinema nights, informative workshops, discussions and exhibitions to promote major local changes in many Greek cities (Athens, Veria, Thessaloniki, Kalamata, Katerini, Larissa, Serres, Rhodes and Halkidiki).

In Kalamata, the Cultural Foundation “The Routes of the Olive Tree”, in collaboration with the MYLO café-restaurant, organized from 14th to 30th September an outdoor exhibition with 17 exhibits of sustainable development objectives. The report was particularly impressive and was the occasion for many debates and reflection. It is estimated that around 300 Kalamata citizens of all ages visited it, read the messages, they thought, discussed, were troubled and agreed that the organization of such events strengthens the hope for a sustainable future!
