20th anniversary of the European Institute of Cultural Routes in Luxembourg

The Council of Europe’s Cultural Routes Program (www.coe.int/routes), which has 32 enlarged Partial Agreement (EPA) members and 33 certified cultural routes, celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Institute. European Cultural Routes (EIC) in the presence of the Director General of Democracy, Snežana Samardžić-Marković, ambassadors representing the 47 member states and observer states of the Council of Europe, as well as national authorities.

The celebration took place at the Neumünster Abbey and was organized in partnership with the Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the Council of Europe and the Ministry of Culture of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. A series of interventions by representatives of cultural routes, academics and experts, a photo exhibition and musical performances as part of the Cultural Routes have been proposed. With the support of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the European Institute of Cultural Routes has been providing advice and expertise since 1998. The official program concluded with an audience granted by His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Luxembourg.
