The events for the capitalisation of results of the project MedDiet – Mediterranean Diet And Enhancement of Traditional Foodstuff (ENPI CBC MED) in Athens have been completed with great success by the project partner Cultural Foundation “Routes of the Olive Tree”.
The Cultural Foundation «Routes of the Olive Tree» completed on 16th March 2015 the series of events for the promotion of the Mediterranean Diet and the capitalisation of results of the project «MedDiet – Mediterranean Diet And Enhancement of Traditional Foodstuff».
The events were implemented in the framework of two important Food & Drinks exhibitions in Athens: the 2nd session of EXPOTROF / Greek producers (30 January -2 February 2015 at the Hellinikon Olympic Complex) and the 2nd session of the international FOODEXPO GREECE (14-16 March 2015 at the Metropolitan Expo), in which the Cultural Foundation, partner in the MedDiet project, participated as supporter and co-organizer.
The events included Information semi-days on different themes regarding the Mediterranean Diet: PDO, PGI and organic products / Foodstuff excellence / Mediterranean Diet and Modern consumers / Culture, Health, Innovation / Meat the experts / Dairy farming and cheese making: the next 100 years / Greek agrifood products in international markets / Gastronomy networks etc.
During the events, which gathered renowned scientists and food experts, targeted audience was thoroughly informed on the MedDiet Project and its targets, highlighted as a model to follow. There were also presented new ways to promote Greek and Mediterranean products to international markets, as identified during the project implementation.
The events for the promotion of the Mediterranean Diet and the capitalisation of the MedDiet results also included 3days interactive presentations entitled «Love yourself, love the Mediterranean Diet!» around the Mediterranean Diet Pyramid, Questions & Answers, the gastronomic treasures of the Mediterranean, distribution of promotional material and gadgets etc.
