“Ecomusée”, the Olive Tree ecomuseum in Volx (France)

Ecomusee-2“Ecomusée” is a living ecomuseum that opened its doors in the summer of 2006 in Volx, Haute Provence, France. It was created by Olivier Baussan as a journey through the living civilisation and cultivation of a tree: the Olive Tree, gift of the Mediterranean. In every hall, the tree invites all visitors to experience it with their five senses and unfolds the history of people around the Mediterranean….

The ecomuseum is currently hosting five artists who, through their work, give their own vision of jars. The exhibition “Souffles de Jarres” including compositions and sculptures will be open to the public until 2 November 2016.
